Barn Repairs at Lovebrook, Lewes, Sussex.

Work undertaken by Padstone Homes.

Slowly we have been making repairs to the main barn at Lovebrook, removing metal cladding and attaching to new wooden frames within the steel structure. There is more to repair but it is a start. Less of the cladding now bangs in the wind. To bring in more light and to stop rain water coming in we’ve reinstated the window at the ridge of the barn, using plastic corrugated sheets. More plastic has been used in repairing the guttering, of which, most has been refitted. The aco drains to collect the groundwater that has pooled around the barn over previous years, also contain plastic. We would prefer not to use plastic where there is a suitable alternative. We will be trying to capture the rain water to be used on the gardens at Lovebrook in the form of ponds, subject to planning permissions.

Notes : More photos will be added over time. Lovebrook hosts volunteer days, of which you could get involved in too at Lovebrook.

Ongoing as of 10/08/2025.
